After the successful return of Dunoon last year the SXC tour once again finds itself taking the short ferry ride across the Firth of Clyde for Round 2 of the Series.
Being a little later in the year the weather forecast is currently looking dry with 11 degrees in temp and a stiff breeze, but with a few days to go there are no guarantees. (it is Scotland after all)
THE COURSE
After last year’s feedback the course has been redesigned to be shorted and without the monster first climb. Don’t kid yourself though it’s still going to be a great challenge.
Check out the map to see the changes to the course.
GETTING THERE
It’s extremely easy to get to Dunoon and the ferry runs every 20 minutes through the day. You can book in advance using http://www.western-ferries.co.uk/ or alternatively get your tickets just before crossing from Paul’s Food & Wine 94 Shore St, Gourock, PA19 1RB, They are the ticket agent for Western Ferries and buying direct is cheaper than purchasing on-line.
Once you’ve got your tickets you can head down to McInroy’s Point , Gourock, PA19 1BA. If you really want you can buy your tickets on the ferry, but it’s expensive!
Once over the water, head south on the A815 and through the town and take a right onto Kilbride Rd. The race venue will be signposted from there.
