Weekend Warriors!

Five-inch-radical-cross-contry-Underdog-Racing-series (FIRCURs)

Why would you buy a race bike if most of your riding is done on nadgery technical trails? Just for those two weekends a year when the racetracks are particularly dull? Way to go skinsuit boy! Mountain bikes aren’t meant to be plastic, they no longer need two foot stems, and you certainly don’t need to have shaven legs to be part of this gang. Don’t get us wrong, in the right hands the plastic rocket-ships are deadly, shaven legs can look pretty, lycra is very comfy, and if you can afford a few bikes then go for it - but this competition is for regular trail riders who only want one bike. Everyone should have the chance to race and enjoy themselves whether on a six inch loafer or an xc missile. This prize is for those who dare to be different, hardy five inch riding mountain men that want to get in on the action; we are proud to introduce you to the FIRCURS.

The SXC race series forms the perfect platform for the FIRCURS. A national cross-country race series with some of the UK’s best trail riding locations: plenty of technical and fast flowing singletrack. Yes, this is totally an XC race series, but we want to prove you don’t need to be packing plastic to win big. You can go fast and be competitive on five inches. You just might win a round, or the overall, but if you don’t then you’re still in with a chance of winning one of our awesome Five frames in the FIRCURS category. If you’ve got a regular trail bike we want you racing and having fun on your bike.

The rules are pretty simple. When you register for a race, make known your steed of choice. If this meets the FIRCURS requirements and you enter two or more races, you’re in with a chance of winning the Five frame. Riders who enter two or more races will have their names put into a no doubt very small hat, and whoever’s name gets pulled out at the end wins an Orange Five frame. Pretty good prize for the have-a-go hero huh?

Rules:

-To be entered into the prize draw you must enter two or more rounds of the SXC series.
-Bikes must have 130mm or more of front and rear suspension travel.

-It is the riders responsibility to register their bike at registration – we will be checking
